Le Cabanon

Location

Le Cabanon is a newly build Bungalow, part of a private property of many hectares in the south of the Island, precisely in Le Morne. Sheltering 10 000 dears among others and some friendly ducks as your own direct neighbours, you are surrounded by tropical vegetation, whereas the beach is easily reached in 5 minutes by foot. Moreover, there is an open fireplace and a Pond (with fishes against mosquitoes) in front of the bungalow. Relaxation is secured!

This part of the Island is less touristic, although many Hotels, Golf courses, Watersports are available in only a few minutes by car. The airport is 1 hour away.

Le Details

Le Cabanon, 60 m² , ideal for 1 or 2 people, is build in a cosy creole style and only 400 meters from a white sandy beach.

The Bungalow lies on a big family property with a few other villas. The owner lives nearby, so while you have full privacy surrounded by nature, you will not feel lonely; Our lovely cat or one of the friendly dogs might come by for a visit … As for the Ducks, you can feed them with the provided food if you desire.

The Bungalow is 1 large bedroom with air condition and its charm is the enclosed and covered outside shower.

The kitchen is outside and covered as well.

All in all, it is rustic, cosy and romantic!

Service

A housemaid comes 6x/week in the morning; she cleans, does the bed and the house laundry, washing up of dishes … This service is included in the price.

Surrounding

Le Cabanon is located in a very quiet area in the south-east of Mauritius, far away from tourism, though just around the corner from the golf courses and water sport facilities from the Morne Brabant and Bel Ombre. The beautiful south coast is wild and natural. Little shops for basics and small snacks are to be found in the village of Le Morne at 2 km or a larger Supermarket in La Gaulette, 12 min by car.

Enjoy lying on the white and fine sandy beach and shallow water in front of the property. Further out it is nice for swimming and snorkelling.

The international and famous Spot for Kite and Windsurf « One Eye » is only 10 minutes away by car. Other schools are at 3 min in the village of Le Morne;

You have the possibility of renting a Fisher boot for trips in the lagoon in the village of le Morne nearby. We can organise a boot with skipper to visit the Island of l’Ile aux Benitiers and to go swimming with the Dolphins.

For 4 guests we recommend on the same property The Kiter’s Nest or La Case Najoli.

Transportation

The bus stops right in front of the property. Nevertheless, we recommend a car to visit the surrounding. In fact there are many spots to visit, such as Chamarel and the 7 colour earth, the waterfalls, Riviere Noire gorges, Casela Parc, Le Gris Gris , the Rum Distillery of Chamarel and much more.
