Grants Cottage waterfront

Grant’s Cottage offers cosy comfort, although not modern, it’s kept in our Mauritian charm and is well equipped. Waterfront on the Island Ilot Fortier which is connected to the mainland by a small bridge, serenity and calm awaits you, looking over the water to the green mainland and mountains opposite.
The house is situated in petite Riviere Noire, near Black River, western Mauritius, 55 minutes from the airport. The house is ideally situated on Ilot Fortier in a very quiet and relaxing environment. The Cottage is made of 2 houses for 4 people and 1 additional Child.
Location
Grant’s Cottage is made of the main house and an extra Cottage (Bedroom / Bathroom) 15 meters next door , on a large property and rented as one. The housemaid lives in a house at the back of the property.
The house is not only 25 min away from the famous Kite spot ‘One Eye’ in Le Morne, but also near to the spot to swim with the Dolphins, same as other water sports, walking, hiking ect.
The Beach in front of the Cottage is yours only. While bathing is not possible in front of the house, you reach the nice beaches of Black River and Tamarin in only 5 minutes by car. Meanwhile, enjoy the marvellous views over the beach and water, the mangroves and greeneries; watch the tide, the many birds, not to forget, the magnificent sunsets … Or, make a Fire on the beach and look up at the stars and milky way!
Restaurants as well as shops are within 5 – 10 minutes’ drive in Petite Riviere Noire or Black River.

the Bungalows together cater up to 5 people.  Grant’s Cottage is located between la Gaulette and Black River, in the west of Mauritius, on a private Island with only a few Neighbours, indeed perfect for those seeking an authentic experience surrounded by Nature. Thus, the Villages are nearby. The property is partially fenced at the back and open to the beach.

Cottage 1
The bedroom is equipped with a large double bed, A/C, en-suite bathroom including shower, W.C.
Bedroom 2
The second separate bedroom equally contains a large double bed, en-suite bathroom with shower, A/C, a TV, stereo and an additional single bed.
Whereas the kitchen is well equipped with Nespresso machine and large fridge,  the terrace has a lot of  outdoor sitting, including dining area, barbecue, along with sun-beds.
Daily cleaning in the morning, Mo-Sa, washing of dishes and laundry, ironing of house linen; Service included.
Service
A housemaid comes daily except Sundays and public holidays to clean (service included). She may prepare lunch if guests provide the shopping. Also dinner at an additional rate.
Surroundings
The region is well known for it’s Parks at Black River and the 7 coloured earth, you will find beautiful beaches, untouched nature and small local villages on your way to the south.
There are plenty Activities nearby such as Horse riding on the beach, swimming with the Dolphins, Safari, Snorkelling and Diving are possible too. Black River is the best spot for Deep Sea Fishing for example!
Apart from that, there is much more to do in the area, namely, Tyrolean or quad biking, Golf at nearby Tamarin or Le Morne.
We arrange swimming with the Dolphins and whale watching depending on the season.
Transport
Taxis are available any time on request. However, we recommend hiring a car, because it is the best way to visit the Island.
