Villa de la Baie

Villa de La Baie is a Duplex of 200 m2. The house is ideally located in the very charming village of “Trou d’eau douce” on the east coast of the island and only 15 minutes from the famous “Ile aux cerfs” Island. Guests are charmed by the extraordinary and unique views on the lagoon.

Location

“Trou d’eau douce” is a typical Mauritian village, unspoiled from tourism. The Village is clearly a good opportunity to live on a low budget with its many small shops and local restaurants in all ranges. 

Nonetheless it is less than 10 km from the best hotel establishments on the island, such as the Saint Géran, Le Touessrok, the Belle Mare Plage, The Four Seasons, The Prince Mauritius where you can see shows as the Sega for example. 

Details

The Villa is divided in 3 parts: the left part with the great view on the ocean and pool and the apartment at pool level is proposed for rent. Although 3 villas share the big garden and overflow pool, they are totally independent. The property is guarded at night, nevertheless Villa the la Baie has its own alarm system.

Villa de la Baie, accommodates a max of 7 adults and 1 baby. Along with 4 bedrooms comes 2 bathrooms, an open plan kitchen, large living room and dining room. Moreover, a large wood deck looks directly over the pool and panoramic views over the bay of “Trou d’eau douce”.

Services

The housemaid comes every day except on public holidays and she prepares breakfast as well as one meal per day, especially Mauritian cuisine; Namely the same meal for the entire group. She does the laundry too and irons. 

Equally, childcare is possible on demand. In addition, Bedsheets, towels and beach towels provided.

If you need more beds, we also rent the ‘apartment the la Baie’ which is on pool level and can sleep 5 to 6 people with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms

Surrounding

One nice aspect of Villa the la Baie is the possibility to be picked up on its own private jetty. The boat will take you to Ile aux cerfs. Thus, the island is known for its beautiful white sand beaches; Beside Water sports on the Island, there is the magnificent golf course of 18 holes. The access to the jetty is not easy for young children or elderly. For this reason, good shoes are necessary. All the same, it is worth going down to swim and snorkel in the clear water.

The 50 m2 Deck of Villa de la Baie, with 4 long chairs, gives view on the unique and panoramic bay of “Trou d’eau douce” with fishing boats and catamarans who come and go.

A small fishing harbour is at the right of the property with the possibility to buy fresh fish. A white sandy beach is accessible by foot through the village at 500 meters while passing various shops and restaurants. During the months of July and August this side of the island can be sometimes windy, in that case the terrace is 

protected by ‘blinds’.
Many activities are proposed around “Trou d’eau douce”, like Fishing in the lagoon, Deep Sea Fishing, Catamaran, Kite surfing, Water-skiing, Windsurfing etc and also
Golf on the most beautiful courses on the island including Ile aux cerfs, The Links, The Legends, Anahita.

Transport

Whereas the bus station is only 250 meters away, Taxis are available too at any time. In case that you hire a car, there is a parking space right behind the villa.
